- edaniels@easystreet.comWe did this as a stake activity for part of our Youth Conference. It
was a lot of work, but a huge success. It was a very meaningful activity. A few things we
did differently are:
We started in the chapel and had a reenactment of the War in
Heaven. They sang that song from My Turn on Earth where Satan and the Savior are
presenting their plans. (can't remember the title). When Satan was cast out, several of
the ward YW/YM leaders stood up and followed Satan representing the 1/3rd of our brothers
and sisters who followed Satan's plan. We acted like we were mad and angry. You should
have seen the kids faces. They were so shocked!
We were the ones running many of the booths, so we were in
place when the carnivals started. We played the carnival the same way, but when death
tapped you then you went to spirit prison and heard a talk on what the process is after
death.
Then we went to judgment. We used all the Bishops (wearing
all white) from all the wards as judges. They determined which kingdom the kids were
worthy to go to based on the way they had choose to play the carnival games and the amount
of earthy and spiritual tokens they had.
We had all three kingdoms in separate rooms with
refreshments, and decorations that corresponded to the "glory" of each kingdom.
The kids that had not made good earthy choices were really effected by it. There was such
a different feeling in each room. As each youth was escorted by angels to their kingdom,
they were shown what the other kingdoms were like.
We had a testimony meeting afterward. It was really a
powerful experience for the kids.
