I remember something that was done when I first got married that was a BIG hit on reading the Book of Mormon. We spent an entire Saturday as a stake reading the Book of Mormon. Couples were asked to conduct classes for certain sections of the Book of Mormon that each group was responsible for reading.

The schedule was as follows (as far as my memory serves):

8:00 am      - Welcome and Breakfast
9:00 am      - Split into classes to read and given assignments--breaks were given at the teachers discretion.
12:00          - Lunch
12:30-1:30  - we played indoor hockey with brooms and a pair of socks as the puck - we divided into teams
1:30            - back to classes to continue reading
3:00            - snack break
3:15            - back to classes
5:00           - wrote letters to president Benson on our commitment to reading the Book of Mormon
5:30           - testimony meeting - and sharing w/each other on the sections of the Book of Mormon we were assigned.
7:00           - closing prayer

Now my husband and I were one of the couples assigned with our group and it was truly a great and inspirational day. I'm sure there are parts of the schedule I'm missing because as I said before this is from memory. The hockey game was great because it helped us burn off restless energy. You might not want to do something this long - but it was a great day and I remember it converting many Young Men into being more committed in serving a mission. I know this isn't much but I thought you might like this idea.
