Missionary Month - 2001

Discussion #2

Dear Missionary and Parents;

It’s been a year since our last youth missionary month and we are excited to do it again this year. This year we will be learning the 2nd discussion. Here are the dates and details for each week:

March 21st - Missionary Fireside - 7:00 PM

Brother Steele our Stake Mission President will be speaking on missionary work. It will be held in the chapel, remember church dress & your scriptures. Mission calls will be handed out this evening & your missionary prep list.

March 28th - MTC night - 7:00 PM

Our youth missionaries will arrive at the MTC and be given their missionary tags and companions. We will be breaking out into companionships and be taught the 2nd discussion. CHURCH DRESS & BRING YOUR SCRIPTURES. Each youth will come home with the pamphlet of the 2nd discussion to study.

At the end of this evening we will let the youth know that they will be responsible to decide how they are planning to present the discussion and assign someone to confirm their dinner appointments.

Please take note of the missionary checklist that was handed out. During the week please take time to study the discussion on your own and read the accompanying scriptures so that your testimony can be strengthened and is ready to share.

April 5th - P-DAY

Ward Roller-Skating party at Pattison’s. Invite your friends to attend.

How are you doing on your missionary preparedness checklist? How is your discussion coming along? A great Family Home Evening would be to practice your discussion on your family and then have your family write letters to our ward missionaries!

* Don’t forget, dinner appointments need to be confirmed by APRIL 8th!!

April 11th - Dinner & Discussion

This is the big day to put into action all your hard work. Parents we would appreciate it if you could have your missionary at the PETERSEN'S HOME PROMPTLY at 5:30 in missionary dress with scriptures and discussion in hand. We will have a prayer, missionary song, and then be picked up by your host families. Go with a smile and the spirit will be with you in teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as you have prepared!

Plan to return to the church around 7:15 PM. Following our return to the church we will have a testimony meeting in the chapel. Parents you can plan on picking your missionary up at the church between 8:15 and 8:30.

We know that each of you will fill your mission with honor. You will get out of this mission what you put into it. Be prepared and experiment upon his word.
