The theme was Discover the power of R.E.D. Red stands for read every day. We
started out by giving each girl and red rubber band that had something
distinguishing on it to divide them in four different groups. We had four
different speakers in different rooms. They each talked about their love for
the scriptures and how they have blessed their lives. Also with each room we
gave them something red. The small red Books of Mormon, and red scripture
marker, red candy, and a red bookmark. Then we ended discussing how
important it was to read every day and that they could take their rubber
bands off their wrists when they next red. We all also wore red and it was
right around valentines day. It was a lot of fun.
I remember something that was done when I first got married that was a BIG hit on reading
the Book of Mormon. We spent an entire Saturday as a stake reading the Book of Mormon.
Couples were asked to conduct classes for certain sections of the Book of Mormon that each
group was responsible for reading.
