Your Own Family Proclamation

Alice Gifford - Page, AZ - The Young Women Connection (8/2/1999)

I have a great idea for FHE tonight from reading this chapter and this could also be adapted to use with next years theme "Standing As A Witness"

Wouldn't it be fun to write your own proclamation and hang it on the door of your children's room? So many of the wonderful lessons from the BOM come from proclamations °Ü° I've been trying to figure out what I'd say.

Here is a rough draft.

We the parents of this home do hereby send a proclamation unto all who abide within these walls and we declare this to be a House of Faith.

All Children in this home are children of God and must be treated as such.  From this time forth you may not lay hands upon one another to hit, punch, bind with ropes, neither should you cast stones upon one another - name calling is unacceptable.

Love is the Key to unlock any door - our rooms should be open to one another and those who feel so inclined may come and sit and visit and share their deepest thoughts and concerns.

The Gospel Must Go Forth - we will be missionaries in our thoughts, words, and deeds; in our association with each other and those around us. This we do so that the gospel might go forth in our home, and in the land in which we live, that the word of God might have no obstruction, but that it might go for through out "all" the land.

This proclamation was sent out August 2, l999 as part of a FHE message to all who reside within the Gifford home.
