Our theme was
Strengthen Home and Family. Three wards in our stake got together and
found wonderful heavy duty red tool boxes (found them for about $2).
Each month we have been giving out tools to put in their boxes. Each
month we had a theme, "I can strengthen home and family by ___________"
and attach this to a tool. We have had some clever ideas. We have given
out paint brushes, hammers, measuring tapes, pliers, screw drives,
electrical tape, wrenches, enough for 12 months. I found a kit at Wal-mart
that had these in for cheap. This month is I can strengthen
home and family my having personal prayer. We will say something like,
"prayer drives in the point".
By the end of the year the girls have a toolbox they can take off with
them when they go on their own and have tools. The girls seem to
appreciate something that will last for a while.
