Father's Day Ideas

From Me - Alice °Ü° This website has some cute
graphics for Father's Day and a couple of them are certificates. Go to : http://www.maryslittlelamb.com/. There is
one that says' This Certificate good for One Car Wash. Sign them : "From the Young
Women" and have a "Father's Day Car Wash" on some Saturday in the near
future. Submitted by: Kathy in Madrid katrinka@deseretmail.com (5/06/01) Submitted by: Teri from TX Tigerrhino@aol.com Some clever person in their ward made "corsages" out of miniature Sugar Daddy's. They took the Sugar Daddy (on a stick still wrapped up) tied a bright, fluffy bow if 1/2" red ribbon to it and added some natural colored dried gypsum or baby's breath. They attached a pin on the back somehow. It was so cute and the Dad's were all wearing them with great pride. It was a neat idea - not too expensive and something the girls could have fun making in advance. Submitted by: Cindy Wright One year we made "Almond Joy" bow ties for the fathers. We drew a cute oversized bow tie and wrote "All Men Are That They Might Have Joy" on it and copied it onto cardstock. We cut them out and finally taped a full-size Almond Joy bar on it. It was super easy and the men enjoyed them. Submitted by: Nancy Here are some Father's Day ideas from my files. Hope they help! MINI LOAF OF BREAD - For being there when you were "kneaded", for "rising" to the occasion, large or small. For never "loafing" on the job, for helping others "heel" with TLC. No matter how you "slice" it, you do a terrific job loving others., etc. Cookies and Dads (some homemade cookies and this poem) Cookies and Dads are both so much alike... Cookies are rough around the edges, with a
middle so tender-- I've seen an apple with a note tied to the stem with ribbon that says..."thanks for being the core of your family!" Submitted by: Jennifer Watson lgjmwatson@home.com Last Father's Day our Young Women did the whole Sacrament Meeting honoring fathers, including two musical numbers, and afterwards, we passed out cans of 'Dad's' rootbeer to all the dads just like the mom's get flowers or potted plants on Mother's Day. The dads really enjoyed the attention. Our girls folded brightly colored velum (heavier than regular paper) into the shape of a shirt. We stapled close to the neck and on Sunday we'll insert a candy bar. The girls had a blast making them and are excited about coming early to stuff on Sunday before Sacrament Mtg. Other ideas: last year they gave POP ROCKS (3 pkgs tied together with ribbon) Big Hunks - "You're such a big hunk, Happy Father's Day Sugar Daddies are also an easy way to go. Monster Cookies - These are two of my favorites that have been submitted. Very simple and fast. A Cookie and a Kiss Daddy's come in lots of shapes For when they come from work at night So on this special Father's Day

BEWARE!!!! These are soooo good!!!! LOL! Submitted by: Karen karencraig@email.msn.com I think there are many young men just as sensitive as women about marriage and motherhood/fatherhood. Some are still waiting for that special event to take place in their life. Our young women took care of the fathers day treat this year and handed out small packages of "Treasures" candy. We put 3 of the candies in tissue (value colors no less) tied them off with curly ribbon and added the tag "A good father is a "Treasure" beyond measure. It was simple, the men enjoyed the treat and the baskets looked beautiful holding all the bright colored tissue wrapped candy. The young women's stood at the doors of the chapel as the men began to enter in for opening exercises of Priesthood. With this type of message it didn't exclude any one . We gave the treat to missionaries, singles, and the married. Submitted by: Joyce Anderson janderson2@atl.mediaone.net Our ward had a surprise on Father's Day. The Elder's Quorum President gave a talk about his father and Heavenly Father. He then started to read letters written secretly by various people, and then a deacon delivered the letter to the recipient. There were a couple from young children to their dads, one from a granddaughter to her grandpa, a wife to her husband, who was stepfather to her children, one from an expectant first-time mother to her husband, one from a mother-in-law to her son-in-law, and even one from a missionary's father (who is a non-member and supports his son financially, but has not written to him) to his son. It was a wonderfully touching program and no one except the letter-writers knew about it. It did not matter that every father did not get a letter. The spirit touched all of us. Submitted by Michele MGLinford1@aol.com Our RS pres. made choc chip cookies and put them in a baggie with a bowtie-shaped paper that said, Happy Father's Day, from a chip off the old block! Cute! The YW handed them out to all adult men in the cultural hall after the block of meetings. Terrie Sturges terries@deseretonline.com We didn't have a Father's Day program, but the R.S. gave the Father's a carnation corsage, and the Y.W. met the Father's at the chapel doors when they were leaving for their priesthood classes and gave them donuts!! The High Priest were very excited and Thankful, the Elders Quorum were glad to have something to eat!!! And the Young Women loved it and had a blast!!!
