by: Darcey in Loveland, CO darceywilde@hotmail.com We recently had a very fun activity with the moms and
daughters. We had a "switch" night, moms came dressed as daughters and daughters
dressed like their moms. The moms and daughters filled out questionaires-about each other
to see how much they really knew about each other. We played a version of the Newlywed
game with a few of the pairs. And also gave prizes for categories-Best Switch, Tightest
Squeeze, Cutest Pair, Party Poopers and so on. You could also have the girls write letters
or tributes to their moms and read them. This activity cost nothing but was a great night
for the girls to get closer to their moms.
Another idea we are doing for General Activity next week is a parent/youth game
night. We are setting up four game stations - Uno, Pictionary, Charades and a relay.
Each family will be numbered and put in groups-each group will play 15 minutes at a
station. A few of the leaders are providing babysitting in the nursery for families that
have younger siblings. We are going to have chips, candy, popcorn at each station. You
could maybe do this with the moms, and it would cost practically nothing.
