Mesa, AZ For New Beginnings and to introduce the theme for the year, we
are giving our girls socks that have been embroidered with "Take a Stand". A
lady in the YW has a sewing machine that can do writing. To go along with that theme of
"Take a Stand" we are going talk about how in their lives they have to
"take a stand" on so many different issues; dating, friends (on each of the
standards in the new FSY book). We can stand on the 'holy end' or the unholy end of each
choice. Each of the YW has been assigned a standard to talk about and how they are going
to "Take a Stand". We will conclude by talking about how as they take 'holy
stands', no matter how hard it may be, they will be prepared one day to stand before the
Lord as they enter doors of the temple. We have also taken 1-2 standards to focus on each
month, as they relate to the lessons. We hope they will enjoy the socks, and wear them
(since the embroidery will be covered up when they put on the shoe, but it will still
remind them of the 'stand' and 'standard' they fulfill.
