Youth Who StandWhat do you say about a group of youth who wanted to
participate in the school band, but in order to do so were asked to practice on Monday
evenings and to travel on Sundays? Courageous!
In Page Arizona there were a few brave youth that went to their music teacher and
explained that they could not come to practices that were scheduled on Monday nights. They
explained that this was Family Home Evening night and they needed to be home with their
families. The teacher listened to the youth and excused them from practicing on Monday
nights and said that the practice would need to be changed if more youth were not able to
practice on this evening.
To stand even taller as a witness of Christ and their desire to keep the Sabbath day holy,
this same group of youth decided that they would purchase all of their food on Saturday
evening so they could keep the Sabbath day holy by not purchasing food on the Sabbath when
required to travel home on Sundays. This same group of youth with the help of their
parents got up early on Sunday morning to drive 4 hours in order to attend their church
meetings at home.
These are the youth of Latter-days who are willing to stand for Truth and Righteousness!
These are the modern day Helamans and Rebecca's. And I love them for their example!
