FRIDAY

6 pm                          Meet at Host Families homes (arranged by bishop/ward)

7:00 – l0:30                Intro to Theme, Dance, Games, and Activities

Everything seemed to gear around to the Armor of God theme. The bishops did a relay and had to put on a shield, breastplate made of cardboard, helmet (bike) shoes made of boxes, run to the middle and make a sword out of those long balloons, run down the gym, take off the shoes, jump on a little tramp and give a war cry and run back. We had several rooms that had board games, ping pong, foose ball(sp). Leaders rotated around the exits to keep them in.

12:00 Lunch

1:00 - 5:30                Service Project

Before we left the church we sang "Called to Serve" and then we all knelt for a prayer. This was so spiritual. Everyone felt the spirit, it was so strong. I have never felt the spirit that strong before. We knew what we were doing was so right. Everyone was so excited to start the service project. (Our ward had 12 drivers. 2 youth went with each and we got to do our own ward. We were done in 2 hours. Someone had blown up the entire stake area so we could see all the individual houses. As we delivered packets we colored in the house with a marker. My section covered 120 houses. I had two girls and they just walked up and down the streets and put them on the door knobs, unless someone was outside and they said, "I am Jessika, I am from the Church of Latter Day Saints. We are handing out Family First Packets. Here’s yours."   We had only 1 person refuse in our section. The girls did an awesome job.

5:30                      Dinner - Stake provided:  Choice of chicken or steak, baked potato, corn, and salad.

7:00                          Keynote speaker (Stake Pres)

7:45                          Return home

(We had a slight change in this schedule because everyone was back to the stake ctr by 4 - 4:30. The dinner was not ready so they had everyone go in the chapel, sing a few hymns and then our stake pres spoke. We broke for dinner. After dinner they showed some pictures that someone had taken during the conference. Oh, The New Era came down and is writing up a story also. She spoke with a lot of the youth and went out to see the youth delivering the BOM.

SUNDAY

7:00 pm                            Fireside/Testimony Meeting

(Another strong spiritual time. It was great. One youth after another. We had so many testimonies, there were numerous kids ready to speak and we had to cut the meeting so the Stk Pres’y could talk. Awesome again. This was the best Youth Conference I have been to.I’m so grateful to be in YW. I know that this is where HF needs me. I hope this all makes sense. Write back if you need more detail to any of this. It was such a big project.

We delivered 9000 packets. We did not go to apts.
