Sisters, this is what we
are doing for NB, based on the info in PP books and handbook on what should be
included, and incorporating the theme with the Bible story about the 10 virgins. You are
welcome to use this and/or change it. Hope it will give you some ideas. Rochelle in

YW choir sings: I Will Stand
Scripture Reader: Standing as a witness of God means learning of Him and preparing now to
be ready to meet him. Jesus gave the parable of the wise and foolish maidens: Ten maidens
took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were wise and five of them
were foolish. The wise maidens took oil for their lamps. The foolish maidens did not. At
midnight the bridegroom came and everyone went out to meet him. The foolish maidens did
not have oil for their lamps and were not ready when the doors to the wedding festival
were shut. The wise maidens rejoiced in company with the bridegroom because they had
prepared themselves. (Matthew 25:1-13)
1st Maiden: (FAITH) I am the first of the wise maidens. I represent Faith. Faith is the
first principle of the gospel, the foundation upon which all other virtues are built. The
apostle Paul taught that without faith it is impossible to please God. Having faith means
knowing that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father, who loves me, and has an eternal plan
which centers on Jesus Christ. I prepare myself to stand as a witness by keeping the
commandments and strengthening my faith in God.
2nd Maiden: (DIVINE NATURE and INDIVIDUAL WORTH) I am the second of the wise maidens. I
symbolize Divine Nature and Individual Worth. I have inherited divine qualities, which I
strive to develop. I recognize that I can be virtuous, temperate, patient, godly, and
charitable. As I learn about my divine nature I realize that I am of infinite worth. I
have my own divine mission which I must strive to fulfill as I stand as a witness of God.
I prepare myself by remembering that the worth of
souls is great in the sight of God.
Musical Number: I Feel My Savior's Love
3rd Maiden: (KNOWLEDGE) I am the third of the wise maidens. I represent Knowledge. I
continually seek opportunities for learning and growth. The Lord commanded us to,
"Seek learning by study and also by faith." As I increase my faith and my
knowledge of my divine nature and individual worth, I learn more about myself and my
Heavenly Father. This helps me prepare to stand as a witness of God always.
4th Maiden: (CHOICE and ACCOUNTABILITY and GOOD WORKS) I am the fourth of the wise
maidens. I characterize Choice and Accountability and Good Works. My knowledge of God and
His gospel helps me remain free to choose good over evil and accept responsibility for my
choices. I prepare myself to stand as a witness for God by making good choices and
building His kingdom through righteous service. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine
before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify you Father who is in
heaven."
5th Maiden: (INTEGRITY) I am the last of the wise maidens. I symbolize Integrity. I have
the moral courage to make my actions consistent with my knowledge of right and wrong. The
prophet Job said, "I know that my Redeemer liveth...and till I die I will not remove
mine integrity from me." Like Job, I also know that my Redeemer lives, and I prepare
to stand as a witness for Him by living what I believe with integrity.
Musical number: I Know That My Redeemer Lives
