Last year, for New
Beginnings, we did cheesecakes with fruit topping in the colors of the values.. I have a
recipe for the sauce that goes with all the flavors of Jell-O..
(Thank goodness for Berry Blue and Grape!)
The year before, we made white cakes, and poked holes in them and poured (once again, the
wonderful value colored) Jell-O in the holes, (just don't use all the water it calls for.. I
have a recipe if you need it) and frosted them with Cook-Whip (Faith) They were so
yummy.
For C&A, we did orange Jell-O and mandarin oranges
For Divine Nature: Berry Blue and blueberries
For Indiv. Worth: Rasp and Raspberries
For Knowledge: Lime Jell-O and Kiwi fruit
For Good Works: Lemon Jell-O with Lemon slices (or you could use pineapple)
For Integrity: Grape Jell-O and Black Raspberries.
THIS WAS THE FAVORITE ONE OF ALL.
Here is the recipe for the fruit sauce:
Marianne's Pie Glaze
1 ¾ c. cold water
2 T. corn starch
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
Boil until clear and thick. Add 1 small box of Jell-O (Any flavor that goes with the fruit
you are using) Then add vanilla.
It takes quite a while to cool and thicken up. (And it makes a lot...you might want to
just make the sauce and pour in enough JELL-O to color and taste the amount you need. I
think it makes 2 cups.)
