Simple Apple Dumplings

2 tubes refrigerator crescent rolls
4 medium apples, peeled & quartered
2 cups sugar
2 cups orange juice
1 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp apple pie spice (or just cinnamon)

Unroll each tube of crescent dough pieces into the 8 triangles.  Roll up 1 apple wedge in each triangle and pinch it around the apple piece to mostly cover.  Place all dumplings in a 9x13" buttered baking dish.  In a medium saucepan bring the sugar, orange juice and butter to a boil.  Pour it over the dumplings (they'll float to the top) and then sprinkle with the spice.  Bake, uncovered at 350degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve warm....nice with vanilla ice cream!....
