We are having our YWIE in November. Our theme is "The Lord Is My Light."  Here is what we are doing:

Music - All YW are learning Janice Kapp Parry song "Thy Word is a Lamp Unto My Feet". We are also having an inactive YW play a piano solo (she is awesome). We are also singing As Sisters in Zion (with the two parts like at EFY).

Speakers - The Stake YW Pres. is speaking, the Bishop is giving short remarks, and 7 YW are each speaking on the 7 values - 3-4 min talks on an experience they have had this past year that made them realize why that value is important in their lives. A couple are just bearing their testimonies on
why they want to become excellent on that value.

Refreshments - Cheesecakes from Sam's with cherry sauce on top

Decorations - We are meeting in the chapel so we are just having a nice floral arrangement in there. The cultural hall will have a nice refreshment spread - 3 long tables covered in white tablecloths with 7 small displays representing the values. For example, Faith is going to be a picture of the Savior with open scriptures in front slightly propped up with a small battery operated candle lamp - all in white. We are trying to color coordinate all of the displays - I am letting Laurels set them up and decide what they want.  They will have to be small because the refreshments will be placed in front of the display on the same tables. Hope this makes sense.

Handout - We bought small scented votive candles at Michael's 5 for $1.00 and then found little glass containers 2 for $1.00. They are assorted colors (value colors) and we have tied gold ribbons around the top of the glass vase. They are really cute. I'm still looking for a poem to give them too on letting the Lord be your light.
