I will also be your light;...I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments;...ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led" (l Nephi 17:13)

"The purpose of this year’s theme is to help young women recognize the Savior as the source of truth, courage, peace, and love and to strengthen their determination to seek His guidance and follow Him at all times."

Invite one young woman per week to share an experience that has increased the "The Light of Christ" in her life using the following outline.

"The Lord is my Light" as I Participate in Family Activities

  • Describe an experience that your family has had together that you feel helped strengthen your family.
  • Share an activity that you participate in that helps strengthen your.


"The Lord is My Light as I Learn more about Extended Family Relationships

  • Tell us about something you do that helps strengthen your relationship with a cousin, aunt, uncle or grandparent, etc.
  • Tell us about something you have learned about an extended family member that has helped increase "the Light of the Lord" in your life. i.e. how was that person an example of righteousness in your life.


"The Lord is My Light as I Learn More About the Blessings of the Priesthood

  • How does _____________ magnify the Priesthood? ( Father, Brother, Bishop, or Hometeacher) and how has this strengthened you?
  • How has your life been blessed by receiving a priesthood blessing?


"The Lord is My Light" as the Priesthood Blesses my Family

  • How does your father, or someone else you know, honor his priesthood by leading your family in righteousness and how does that knowledge increase the "The Light of Christ" in your life?
  • Describe something that you do to support your father, or someone you know, in being a righteous priesthood holder. How does this increase the "Light of Christ" in your life?


"The Lord is My Light as I Understand the Legacy of being a Member of the Church

  • Share an experience when someone has shown faith and courage because of their membership in the church. What blessings does your family receive because of their membership in the Church?
  • What blessings have you or your family received because of faith and courage and how has this increased the "Light of Christ" in your life?


"The Lord is My Light as I Come to Understand the Blessings of the House of Israel

  • What blessings do you feel you have received by being of the House of Israel?
  • When you were baptized you promised to obey all of God’s commandments, Remember the Savior, and to Love and Serve others. Choose one of the above and share an experience when the "Light Of Christ" was increased because of your actions.
  • What are you doing to prepare for eternal live and how does that increase the "Light of Christ" in your life? (Continued)


"The Lord is My Light as I Learn More about the Temple Endowment

  • Tell us why the temple is important to you and your family and how understanding the importance increases the "Light of Christ" is your life.
  • Endowment means "the gift of spiritual blessings". How does knowing that Heavenly Father wants to give you "spiritual gifts" helps you in preparing yourself for the Temple Endowment?


"The Lord is My Light as I Prepare to Attend the Temple

  • Tell us something you try to do everyday to help prepare you for the temple and how does that strengthen you?
  • Tell us something you do as a family that helps prepare "you" for the temple and how does that strengthen you and increase the "Light of Christ" in your life.


"The Lord is My Light" as I Understand the Blessings of a Temple Marriage

  • What blessings come to a family from Temple Marriage and why is that important to you and what are you doing to prepare yourself for this blessing. How does it strengthen you and increase the "Light of Christ" in your life?


"The Lord is My Light" as I learn more about my Heritage

  • Share something about an ancestor who has been a quality that you’d like to develop in your life and why? How did this person increase the "Light of Christ" in others?
  • Is there something you hope that your great grandchildren will know about you and feel that it strengthens them???? What is it?


"The Lord is My Light" as I come to understand my Missionary Responsibilities

  • Have you ever had the opportunity to share the gospel with a non-member? How did this experience strengthen you?
  • Is there something we as members can do to be better Member Missionaries?
  • Has someone in your family served a mission and how has this blessed your life and increased the "Light of Christ" in your life?


"The Lord is My Light" as I Learn to Share the Gospel

  • What is something that you do that helps you share the gospel with others?
  • Share an experience when you or someone you know kept the Word of Wisdom or another gospel principle and increased the "light of Christ" by example


"The Lord is My Light" as I Keep an Eternal Perspective

  • Share an experience when you or someone you know kept a positive attitude and showed great faith by keeping an Eternal Perspective.
  • How does your Patriarchal Blessing add Perspective to your life and increase the "Light of Christ"?


"The Lord is My Light" as I Overcome Opposition

  • Share an experience of something you’ve had to do to overcome opposition.
  • During a time of Opposition in your life, have you "served" someone else and how did that help you in overcoming the opposition in your life?
  • Do you know anyone who has faced opposition in their lives and how they were an example to you? And Why? What did they do to overcome the opposition?


"The Lord is My Light" as I come to Understand "Agency"

  • Share an experience you have when you used your agency to make a right choice and how that increased the "Light of Christ in your Life".
  • Share an experience when someone you know has used their agency to make an unwise choice and how understanding the consequences of their actions has helped you to make wise choices in your life and increased the "Light of Christ" in your life.


"The Lord is My Light" as I Learn More about Obedience

  • Share an experience when you or someone you know chose to be obedient even though they may not have understood "all the reasons" and how this increased the "Light of Christ" in your life.
  • Share a blessing you feel you have received because you have been obedient to a principle of the gospel and how this increases the "Light of Christ" in your life.
