Since many were
sharing what the are doing or did for YWIE, I thought I too would share. Our theme
was "Finding Comfort in Christ" We were building on what we have worked on
the past few years. Several months we worked on making each YW a quilt, We decorated
in comforters and quilts.....
The evening began with the YW, they shined as they presented their projects. Then we
had a speaker, she did a wonderful job on bringing in the Spirit, she spoke of
comfort the Lord gives. Feeling His loving embrace.
Next, I had asked each of the presidency to bear their testimony of the Holy Ghost.
Then I spoke briefly, on our past programs, the hope chest, and the hope they have
in Christ, the photos of the YW with Christ and the reality of that, I spoke of how
the world can leave you cold and comfortless.... and at this point I pulled out a
quilt, I spoke of the Holy Ghost, told the girls we had made each of them a
comforter, to remember this night, remember the comfort the Lord can bring into
their lives. Then we opened the back doors to reveal all the quilts....
The girls and their parents were touched. I hope as years go by, and life takes its
toll, and they need the comfort which only the Lord can give, they will remember
this night, and most important, remember the source of true
comfort.
