Richardson rrichardson@amgc.com This year for Christmas, I decided to
give my girls each a keychain with beads in the value colors. They were so simple to
make and very cost effective. I did 20 for under $10.00. I just went to the
craft department of our local Wal-Mart and purchased key rings, leather string, and beads
in the value colors. To make them, you just cut a leather strap about 8 inches long,
fold it in half, and place on the table. Place the keyring circle on
top of the leather strap so the folded end is in the middle of the circle. Lift the two
cut ends and place them through the folded end. This will make
it so you have two strands of leather hanging from the keychain. Then, just thread
the beads onto each strap (in order) and include the following poem.
Take this little key-chain,
We made it just for you.
The colored beads each represent
A special Young Women's Value.
Faith is like the white bead,
It's found right at the start.
To receive eternal joy
Start with faith deep in your heart.
The blue bead stands for who you are -
A special Daughter of God.
Remember your Divine Nature and
Use that as your rod.
The red bead represents
Your Individual Worth.
For you are more precious
Than all the jewels upon the earth.
Green should remind you Knowledge
Is the only way to truly know.
To understand God's plan
You must study, learn and grow.
The orange bead represents
Your Accountability.
For when you make a Choice,
The result is your responsibility.
The yellow should remind you
To serve your fellow man
Our Savior taught that Good Works
Are part of His great plan.
The final bead is purple
To show Integrity.
For as you live each value,
You become like royalty.
So, take this little key-chain.
Keep it close at hand.
We hope it will remind you
You're part of His eternal plan.
