BH1, F *** Find four scriptures about faith. Write the references in your journal. Memorize one and record it in your journal. Write a short sentence or two telling what the scripture means to you. BH1, F ***Read Alma 7:23-24 and D&C 121:45. In your own words list the divine qualities given in these scriptures. How can you develop each quality. Write down your ideas. BH1, DN ***Read Luke 2:40-51. For one week make a special effort to do what your parents ask of you the first time they ask. During the second week, do your assigned jobs without having to be reminded. Record in your journal how doing this made you feel. BH1, DN ***Read Helaman 5:6 and talk to your parents about what your family name means to them. Record these characteristics in your journal and write a short statement about how you can honor your family name. BH1, DN ***Read D&C 18:10. Record in your journal what this scripture tells you about your individual worth. BH1, IW ***Read 1 Nephi 15:8, 2 Nephi 32:3, Alma 37:37, 3 Nephi 18:20 and D&C 9:7-9. From those scriptures listed, choose three from the Book of Mormon or Pearl of Great Price. What did Satan choose to do and how did Heavenly Father respond? Share you answers in your journal. Plant a seed in a container, put it in a sunny window, water it, and watch it grow. Each day read the scriptures, pray, and feel your own faith grow. After a month, record your feelings in your journal. BH2, F ***Read 1 Corinthians 3:16 and record the meaning of this scripture in your journal. Talk with a friend about your commitment to avoid drugs, alcohol, and immodest dress and behavior. Record this experience in your journal. BH 2, K ***Read John 14:26 and 2 Nephi 32:5. Write in your journal how the Holy Ghost can help you make good choices in your daily life. List three ways you can comfort others or help them bear their burdens. Choose one way and help someone in need. Record your experiences in your journal. Choose three ways to do this and keep the commitment for at least two weeks. Record your experiences in your journal. BH2, I ***Read James 1:5-6 and Joseph Smith - History 1:11-20. Record in your journal what these scriptures teach you about Joseph Smiths history. MM2, F ***Read Ether 12:12-18. Write in your journal about an experience you have had or that you are aware of that is an example of faith. MM1, F ***Read 2 Peter 1:4-8 and choose one of the qualities listed. Use the Topical Guide to select a scripture that illustrates that quality. Write the verse on a card. Read the card at the beginning of each day for two weeks, and practice that quality during the day. At the end of two weeks, record in your journal how you felt as you tried to become more Christlike. MM1, DN ***Read Alma 56:45-48 and 57:21. Think about what qualities a mother needs before she can teach her children to have faith and base their decisions on gospel truths. What do these verses mean in your life now and in your preparation to be a mother? Record your thoughts in your journal. MM1, DN ***Read Genesis 1. At the end of each day of the creation, God evaluated his work and "saw that it was good". For at least one week, evaluate your activities at the end of each day, and list in your journal at least one good thing you did. MM1, IW ***Read D&C 46:11-12.. Ask a family member, YW leader, or best friend to write down the positive qualities they see in you. Put these comments in your journal and think about how you can use your gifts to make yourself and others happy. MM1, IW ***Read 2 Nephi 5:27 and Mormon 9:14. Practice an attitude of happiness in all situations for one week. Record your feelings in your journal. MM1, C&A ***Read 2 Nephi 2:11, 15-16, and 27-28. Think about the blessings of responsibilities of agency. Why are we accountable for our choices, and how does making correct choices allow us to be free? Record in your journal your understanding of the principle of agency. MM1, C&A ***Read Mosiah 4:26, Galations 6:9-10 and Matthew 5:16 and 25:34-40. Ponder on why service is a fundamental principle of the gospel. Record your thoughts about service in your journal. MM1, GW ***Read 3 Nephi 12:16. Make a list of 5 ways you can let your light shine. Select one of these ways and do it for two weeks. Record your experiences in your journal. MM1, GW ***Read 3 Nephi 13:16-18 and D&C 59:13-14. For two fast Sundays strive to make your fast more meaningful. Record in your journal your feelings and thoughts about the principle of fasting. MM2, F ***Read Galatians 5:22-23, Colossians 3:12-14 and Alma 13:28-29. Choose one of the qualities listed in those scriptures and for two weeks during your daily prayers ask to have the Holy Spirit quide you as you practice that quality. Record your progress in your journal. MM2, DN ***Read Moroni 8:25-26 and the information under the heading "Repentance" in the Bible Dictionary. Write in your journal what repentance means to you. MM2, C&A ***Read Moroni 10:32 and think about what it means to "deny yourselves of all ungodliness". For two weeks eliminate actions that are offensive to the Spirit of God. Record in your journal your experiences.
