YW NEWSLETTER |
| Looking
for a great Laurel Project - How about putting together a YW Newsletter for your ward or
stake for a year! Here are some great idea for names. Let me know if you come
up with something else. I'd love to add it to the list! "The Standard Witness" Joyce janderson2@atl.mediaone.net "YW Matters!" - , Laurie duckblind2@juno.com "YW"S TORCH" - Patti PShoney2@aol.com "BEEHIVE BUZZETTE" Cathy in CA Cathco5@aol.com "The Torch" - KPWHALEY@AOL.COM What to include in newsletter? Monthly activities, birthdays, spiritual message, YW spotlight. A great tool to use for a monthly contact with less-active YW °Ü° Contributed by: absiems@freemail.absa.co.za I am secretary in our Stake YW and we have a newsletter which goes out quarterly. We call it "Bright Ideas". In the past I have used Bishops/BP's to give their thoughts on YW activities and/or their testimonies of the YW program. I include poems etc. written by YW in our stake. I also have a message from either the YW President and/or one of her couns. or perhaps the Stake High Councilman over Youth. We give them the stake calendar for the next 6 months - we have various units give an article on one of their more successful activities etc. We also include things like changes in YW Presidencies in any given branch or ward and welcome them in. One could also use it to wish new Beehives a warm welcome, or say goodbye to outgoing Laurels. Our unit Presidencies are welcome to make copies of this newsletter for their youth if they so wish. Contributed by: Tc5000@aol.com Our Stake puts out a newsletter periodically. Not monthly,
but we do try to put one out that includes events upcoming and specific about those event.
Our activities are on the Stake calendar but they aren't given specific so we
(meaning me, I am the Sec.) put together a letter that gives those specific. Contributed by: wafr@arkansas.net I was in the stake YW presidency for several months until I was called back to my Ward to serve as YW President. Our Stake has a newsletter. Our YW Stake leaders include quotes, news on upcoming activities, introduction of new ward Presidencies, but the biggest plus for us has been the information we received in the calendaring of stake activities. Previously we had very little ideas what was going on and when it was going on or who was invited etc. We actually feel informed Contributed by: kauerfamily@lds.net We have been putting out a newsletter for 6 months now. We
do it monthly and I think our Ward Presidencies are appreciating it. We also include
future dates/times for Stake activities(Sports, firesides, dances, camp, NB or Ex. night
dates, High school and Seminary graduation dates, etc.) We also include a
"challenge" or "reminder" for the month. Our last one we included a
list of ideas for weekly activities. We came up with activities that one doesn't normally
think of. We had a great response with that. And sometimes we'll tell of our Stake Pres.
concerns about the YW in our stake or a short thought concerning their callings. I think
it is so important to supply dates/times of the Stake Activities because these Ward
Presidents have so much to do that they need a friendly reminder and I think they
appreciate it. |
