(This could be turned into a service project ...or is it possible to make camp blankets and pass of a portion of "Knot" Certification °Ü° - YW Connection)

One girl who's not coordinated in cutting (and I worried about her) did a beautiful job. We have two tomboys who refuse to do quilts or sewing, but I guess because it was knot-tying they were enthusiastic. I'm not sure if these are the original directions because I couldn't find it in my files.

Directions: Go to a fabric store.  Fleece is soft on both sides.  Buy 1 1/2 yard for each YW.   This is enough for an average sized girl to wrap herself in, a larger girl may need more, or 1 yard for a child. Cut the raw edges (that's two sides-the other two are finished) at 1" intervals. ( I think the original writer said 2"-your choice). We eyeballed it-no measuring.

I made the first cut on theirs then they took it from there. The cut should go about 4" up into the fabric then just knot each 1" strip.  It looks like knotted fringe.  On the 1 yd blanket I didn't do it on the raw edges, but on the top and bottom-just looks better on that version.

Downfall:  Price. Fleece is $6 but we got it on clearance.  I had enough in my budget because my other activities were free.  The person I got the idea from had the girls go with their mothers and buy it and bring it to Mutual.  We are not allowed to do that so it wasn't an option.  We also live by a discount fabric store with at huge selection. One girl loves panda bears-she had five to chose from! This may not be for everyone but for us it was perfect.
