To go along with our It's a Jungle Out There theme, I am putting together Bee Prepared kits for our girls. I found jungle print tote bags that I am putting the things into. I am embroidering their names on them. I have found most of what I want to include but am not sure on a couple of them.

Be clean - Heart shaped bath salts. Scripture: the one about clean hands and a pure heart.

Be grateful - Journal with a giraffe print on it + pens. Scripture: ?

Be prayerful - prayer rocks. Scripture: ?

Be humble - those white hankies turned into baby bonnets and then later used in the temple, with Daughter of God embroidered on them in white.

Scripture: one about being like a little child i.e. humble and teachable.

Be smart - scripture book marks made out of ribbons in the YW value colors attached to a piece of cardboard that slips into the binding Scripture: Seek ye out of the best books...

Be true: This one I am not as sure about. I bought cheap-o compasses to remind them to follow the leaders of the church so they can choose the right and be true to their covenants. Scripture: ?

Thought you might be interested in quotes and scriptures for the Be's that we used at camp. The girls learned the quotes and scriptures and earned a bee for their camp necklace. The bees are "carefree collectibles" a product of Provo Craft. They are sold all over the country at craft stores. There are 4 in a package for $1.00. They are a new product. They sell several different kinds of bees, but the ones we got are the most realistic. They are 3 dimensional and have little plastic wings, a pointed tail and little antennae. They're about an inch long. My husband drilled tiny holes for a screw-eye and we put a jump ring through that.

We focused on the temple this year as a stake. At our stake fireside we gave each of the girls a temple recommend holder. It has a Greg Olson picture of the Savior on the outside and our stake scripture (John 8:12) on the back (no they didn't make it just for us, but it felt like they did.) I got them at Seagull Book for $2 each (regularly $2.50.) I ordered 200. I don't know what you need to buy to get a discount. You can probably get the same deal at Deseret Book. I don't know where you live, but recommend holders are available online, too.

Inside the recommend holder, where the recommend would go, we had a small card with the Standards of Personal Worthiness. It began with "I, the undersigned, commit to" and then listed the 13 standards (found in Personal Progress book.) At the end was a place for the YW to sign on a line which said "future recommend holder." Sister Nadauld said in her new book that if a young woman is living the standards of personal worthiness she is worthy to go to the temple.

Be Grateful

Let a spirit of thanksgiving guide and bless your days and nights. Work at it. You will find it will yield wonderful results. (A Prophet's Counsel and Prayer for Youth, Nov. 2000)

D&C 59: 7
Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things.

Be Smart

You have a mandate from the Lord to educate your minds and your hearts and your hands. (A Prophet's Counsel and Prayer for Youth, Nov. 2000)

D&C 130: 18-19
Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.

Be Clean

My dear young friends . . . keep yourself clean . . . Walk in the sunlight of that peace which comes from obedience to the commandments of the Lord. (A Prophet's Counsel and Prayer for Youth, Nov. 2000)

Psalms 24: 3-4
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Be True

Be true to your own convictions. You know what is right, and you know what is wrong. You know when you are doing the proper thing. (A Prophet's Counsel and Prayer for Youth, Nov. 2000)

Alma 53: 20-21
20 And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all—they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted.
21 Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught to keep the commandments of God and to walk uprightly before him.

Be Humble

If we are without conceit and pride and arrogance, if we are humble and obedient, then the Lord will lead us by the hand and answer our prayers. What greater thing could we ask for? There is nothing to compare with this. (A Prophet's Counsel and Prayer for Youth, Nov. 2000)

D&C 112:10
10 Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers.

Be Prayerful

Get on your knees and pray every day, night and morning . . . Be prayerful. Call on the Lord in faith, and He will hear your prayers. He loves you. He wishes to bless you. He will do so if you live worthy of His blessing. (April Conference 1997)

Matt 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
