Daddy Daughter date idea to go with opposition

We did a daddy daughter date around western theme. We had sloppy joes etc. We took pictures of the girls and their dads and had them developed 5x7 size. The girls at an activity made padded frames for them and gave them to their dad's for Fathers Day. They loved it. We got double prints so the girls could have one also to put in their scrap books.

To add to what Shauna sent you could have three-legged relays, egg toss, tug-0-War, contests - anything that would tie into Lesson 23 - which is Overcoming Opposition. You could also invite the fathers to share a time in their lives when they over came opposition and how they did it.

Last year we played "Wheelbarrow Baseball" as a Father/Daughter party. The girls batted and then hopped into a wheelbarrow to be pushed around the bases by their dads. Several times, a few dads took off running, completely forgetting their daughters! Everyone had a great time anyway! After the game we had homemade ice cream.

I'm sure you already thought of this, but what about a piñata? You could even have the girls make it with paper mache' at an activity prior to the daddy daughter date. I know that there is some sort of cut paper craft used with colorful paper that could be used for decorations (I guess that would take some research.) If you made invitations as well, you could get several activities out of it. We recently did a "Mission Impossible" daddy daughter date where everyone came as secret agents, it was a blast!! Enjoy, it's fun to watch the girls "bond" with their dad's.
