I gave the lesson today in YW. I used as a handout that went over real well and put across my point...

It's your choice, you can be a

MOUND

of trouble, or a source of love, peace, and

JOY

remember

Blessed are the Peacemakers...

Of course I used mini mounds and almond joy candy bars and taped them over the words mound and joy.  My lesson went over well I thought. I loved the talk by Lynn G Robbins and used that extensively along with the "I Can be a Peacemaker"  presentations and scriptures.... I think using the scriptures extensively really proved the point that this must be important.

Be a "pez"-maker in your home and taste of the "sweet"ness that it can bring one "peace" at a time.

I gave each girl a pez machine and we talked about how we have to work at it daily one step at a time.

I made a handout that had the scripture in Matt. 5:9 on it. It was in the shape of a house with a heart at the top. It was supposed to be to help the girls remember to be peacemakers in their home.

For the last section of the lesson (the discussion part) I had each of the 5 points on being peacemakers cut out so when I put them together they made the shape of a house with hearts on them for love. I used it to represent the point that we have love in our home when we were being peacemakers and using those 5 techniques.

PEBBLE PROMISE: This week I will look at this pebble and remember to be a peacemaker. When a pebble is tossed into a pool of water, it creates a ripple, making larger and larger circles, showing how this one pebble's influence is widespread. My one action of being a peacemaker can affect my entire family. I will be a peacemaker.

The saying above was written on a white paper that was attached to a black paper --just larger. And at the top was a red heart, cut from shiny red wrapping paper. On the red heart was a small, clear, flat-sided marble--attached by hot glue.

PS: "Pebble Promise" is from a book I found in our yw closet called Young Women Fun-tastic activities--Lesson Lifesavers for Manual 2, written by Mary H. Ross
