Last  night we had an activity which was very nice and I thought I would share the idea with you. I come from St. George Utah and when I was growing up and going to Seminary we had a missionary week. Here in England they don't have that and there is so much more opportunity here to share the gospel then there is back home. So we decided to encourage the girls to share the gospel we would have a missionary week.

To start we sent mission calls to all the young women in our ward a week early. For the activity we made mission name badges for each of them which had their name (Sister....) future missionary for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. All the girls wore Sunday dress and we  had three sisters from the ward who had served in different missions talk for 10 minutes about what their missions meant to them the fun times about it and the blessings they received from serving the Lord. We had each sister bring items (i.e. journals pictures memorabilia) from their missions to display on a table along with one item of food from their mission. after each sister spoke about their mission the girls had 5 minutes to look at their display and taste the food from the mission.

Afterwards we had a recent convert to the church tell about her conversion and how important the gospel is to her and how lost she would be if the missionaries had not shown up to teach her and her family. At the very end we handed out little white handbooks which we had typed up ourselves which have guide lines for the next week along with a book of Mormon for each of the girls. We have encouraged them to do the following:

No television (except Monday which is Preparation Day)
No Music except church music
Personal Scripture Study at the start of their day. Which will be hard as they have early morning seminary
Personal Prayers
Dress standards. They don't have to wear dresses but live by the FSOY guidelines
Speak to one person a day about the gospel. It can be as simple as saying No thank you for a cup of tea which will trigger questions as to why and they can explain because of their religion And during the next week they must pray for Heavenly Father to guide them to one person whom they can give their Book of Mormon to.

I am attaching the Mission call in this email but one of my counselors did the little white hand book and I don't have a copy on my computer.

This activity was wonderful the spirit was so strong and ever girls who were having a bit of a problem with their testimonies expressed how much they enjoyed the activity and how excited they are for this next week.
