I wanted to do something to really "get" the girls. So many times it
seems like they just sit there and nothing really touches them or gets
into their hearts. Well, I thought, if growing closer to the Savior
can't touch them.... anyway, this is what I'm doing. I wanted to show
the video "Finding Faith in Christ" but it is kind of long, and I wanted
something short and sweet. I am going to show part of it beginning with
the leper, and play "I heard Him Come" instead of the video sound. It
goes really well with it, and my own two teenagers thought it was good,
so I guess that says something. I also got the small Mormonad that
says "Never Forget Him" for each of the girls and a copy of "The Living
Christ" (You will also find this in the front of their PP
books.)Contributed

Another movie that I love is the "Special Witnesses of Christ" It is
about an hour long, so obviously you wouldn't be able to watch
the whole thing, but I have shown one or two of the testimonies during
lessons. I just think that the Apostles speak so powerfully.
As for something special to do with the Living Christ. You could copy a
picture of Christ, like the Christus or something, on vellum
and put it over the living Christ and put a mat on it.

I think this could work
well with a lesson on testimony also.
I made little booklets by printing on one half and folding in half. Put
several unprinted pages together and held them together with some pretty
white cord.
I asked the parents to write their testimonies in them. I gave them just
the inside page .It was kept secret from the girls. Then I collected
them up and finished putting them together.
I showed part of the video Finding Faith in Christ, then playing the
song His Hands I told them they could now open their envelopes. And said
they could write their testimonies in them if they felt so inspired. As
they opened their little booklets, they found their parent's testimony.
Even some of the dads wrote in them. We had to pass some tissue to a
couple of girls. And parents that were worried about their daughters
feelings about the church really thought it was great that they could
share this with their daughter. We had a full house Sunday. All but 2 of
our active girls were there. The 2 had had family emergencies that kept
them from coming.
I gave myself a week to distribute and collect up the parent's
testimonies. Our ward is very spread out and it did mean a little extra
driving, and some of the parents were a little late getting back to me,
but it was well worth it. For one girl whose mother didn't write in the
booklet, our president wrote in it.
