Contributed by: Jvdunnfun@aol.comI just finished putting the final touches on this lesson that I will
teach to all (60 of them!) our YW this Sunday. I used some of the material from the
manual, but found a few other items that I thought I would share:
1. I am using the object lesson of the geode. (We too are
beautiful no matter what we do not like about ourselves, we all have the potential to be
beautiful and radiate from the inside, which shows in our outside appearance and
behavior.)
2. In the Nov. 2000 issue of Family Circle Magazine on page
12 are Life Lessons from First Ladies. Since it is election time, I thought it would be
nice to enlarge some of these pictures and share the positive thinking lessons from some
of our past first ladies. For example, one of them says, "True greatness has its seat
in the heart . . . it must be elevated by aspiring to great things and by daring to think
yourself capable of them." --Abigail Adams
The article has several more, plus the quote by Eleanor
Roosevelt in the manual.
3. This thought was given to me by a friend who knew I had
this lesson on my mind.-- A little boy was overhead praying: "Lord, if you can't make
me a better boy, don't worry about it, I'm having a real good time like I am."

4. Last I am concluding the lesson with this poem and giving
the girls a copy of it on nice paper. --"God grant me the serenity to accept the
things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the
difference." The Serenity Prayer
