Submitted by: Danielle Howell [renobrian@netzero.net] What I did was take a piece of paper folded it in half, cut the corners off
the top so you are making a medical bag (cut on the open side, at an angle, not on the
fold). then cut out a rectangle in the middle (at the top) for a handle. I then tape up
the sides. You can laminate the paper before you fold it in half so it's sturdier.
Under the handle I wrote "good Samaritan". Under Good
Samaritan I put a picture of a RED CROSS, and underneath that I wrote First Aid Kit.
I then made pictures or gathered pictures for the handouts and
labeled them. These handouts were for them to keep, I wrote the quotes on the paper
handouts, You could also laminate these too. Then I bought the real stuff for them to give
away. The contents include:
- A kiss to comfort those in trouble---stencil or picture of lips or
drawing of lips--then I put a REAL Hersheys kiss.
- See someone mad...sing a song to make them glad---I made a stencil of
a musical note with the saying.
- A smile to brighten someone's day--made a smiley face.
- A lollipop to cheer up the sad--made a lollipop--and put in a real
one.
- A Band-Aid to cover a wound of a hurt friend--made a picture of a
Band-Aid and put in a real one.
- A listening ear to those who have problems--I made an ear--that was
tricky so I made a backward letter C.
- A lifesaver to sweeten the mood--picture of a lifesaver--and put in a
real one.
- A watch to remind you to spend time with someone who is lonely--made
a picture of a watch.
- A bearhug to show you care beary much. Made a bear-and put in real
gummy bears.
- "Chews" to help a friend in need. Picture of chewing
gum--then put in real gum.
