I wanted to make this lesson apply right now to the Young Women. I used the beginning part of Elder Wirthlins' Priesthood Session talk (Nov. 1999) to discuss how the Young Men now are growing into their callings. Then we listed all the Aaronic Priesthood holders in the ward on the chalkboard. I asked the YW what we could do right now to support these priesthood bearers.

I told them I was going to read what the prophet spoke to the YM about (Priesthood Session, May 1998) and what the YM need to be doing to prepare themselves to get married and for the future. As we read what the YM needed to be doing, we stopped and listed ways that the YW could support and sustain them accordingly. At the end I pointed to the boys on the board and asked the Young Women if they thought they were planning to marry any one of these YM. (What a reaction :) !!) Then I explained to them that while they might not marry one of them, some other YW elsewhere would. These girls needed to support and help these YM to become righteous priesthood bearers. In turn, other girls were helping their future husbands/bishops/etc... to become righteous priesthood bearers.

Handout:  Then (since it was Easter), I passed out a chocolate bunny with a handout that read, "Some bunny somewhere is counting on YOU now to help and support their future priesthood bearer."
