Vicki - Just wanted to share what I have planned for the lesson this Sunday (I'm the YWP and rarely get to teach - so I'm excited!) I've asked all the girls to bring a baby picture. We'll spend the first five minutes (usually chat time) playing the "guess who the baby is" game. Then we'll go into the lesson. I'm bringing my own pictures from home showing the stages of my own life - baby, teenager (they'll never believe I was one!), wedding picture, and now. I usually stick pretty much to the lesson, so we'll do the quiz and talk about that. Then for a handout, I've printed out the "Hatchings" poem on yellow cardstock and will be giving them each a copy with either a Cadbury egg or those little yellow marshmallow Peeps chicks - the stores are full of Easter stuff, so they should be no trouble to find. Happy teaching everyone!

COMING OUT

Some hatchings hurt. . .
and the new learning
softness
is so very tender.
It's frightening to be
nothing more
than palest puff
that peeps.
And so remember
and remember
clarion call
to shelter:
"I will gather. . .
as a hen
gathereth
her chickens
under her wings. . ."
A place to grow
in strength.
