cj@fea.netOVER THE WALL:
Divide the group into two teams. Two members of the team hold a rope about four to five
feet above off the ground. The object of the game is to get everyone over the rope. No one
can go under the rope. Before you start transferring people over the 'wall',you meet as a
team and decide how to get everyone over. Time the teams. If you don't have a large enough
group, you can do this as one group.
TOWER OF BABEL: Give each team the same materials: paper cups, empty cans, paper, balls,
etc - anything you can think of. Using all the materials (points deducted for each object
not used) the object is for each team to build the TALLEST freestanding tower *WITHOUT
TALKING*. When the more gregarious girls can't talk, sometimes a natural leader emerges
that is not who you would expect.
BUILDING BRIDGES: Using dried peas that have been soaked in water OR mini marshmallows and
toothpicks, each team has to build a bridge. Set your criteria - longest bridge (that
doesn't break in the middle); tallest bridge (inches from the ground); bridge that can
support the most weight. 5 minutes for planning; 10 minutes for constructing.
