Goal:If used in conjunction with the Team Juggle, use the previously established throwing
order. Transfer one ball around the group in the least time possible without dropping.
Equipment:Bag of various kinds of balls or soft items for throwing i.e. koosh balls rubber
chickens, dog toys, etc
Safety:Inspect area for overhead obstructions. Inspect ground for debris.
Framing:The initial time establishes a baseline (quality) from which the team will be
challenged to increase the quality of their work (decrease their time).
Activity: Ball must begin and end with the same person. Transfer order can be the same as
TEAM JUGGLE. Ball must transfer ownership to each person. Ball must not hit the ground.
Begin by setting a baseline time. Encourage the group to break boundaries and shorten
time. Continue until the group has agreed to having a "best time."
Variations:Present three different types of balls and have the group pick one.
Have the group use more than one ball.
Debrief: The focus is on "out-of-the-box" thinking.
Challenge the group to break the present paradigm
What are the paradigms in their work or school worlds?
Are they encouraged to explore their boundaries?
What does "challenge the process" mean?
How would you go about challenging yours?
What does "work smarter versus work harder" mean to your group?
