Quarterly Planning

At the beginning of the year we held a quarterly planning meeting and went over the "Planning with a Purpose" information in the handbook.

Before the meeting, I let the girls know in advance that they each needed to come up with 3 activity ideas and bring them to the meeting.  (I gave them
some websites to look at, etc.)  Then we went around and listed everyone's activities and voted on which ones we would like to do.

At the end, we separated into classes and scheduled our class activities.  I asked the Mia Maids what they thought they needed to learn about, and many of them would like to   prepare for their patriarchal  blessings.  One of their activities is having a night to learn how to get their p. blessings.

I was pleasantly surprised at the things they came up with, even quite a few service projects--often they just say they don't know what they want to
do.:)

Planning with a purpose and getting the girls to think in advance before the meeting about the activities they would like to do really worked for us.
Also, I didn't give many suggestions.  (I had some prepared as a last resort, but I let them know that I expected them to come up with good ideas
and they did.)
