We recently
did a YW Youth Presidency Training and one of the leaders spoke to
the girls about Delegating. She had the President of the class
come to the front with her and hold both of her arms straight out
to the sides. She put a book (she used hymn books) in each of the
girl's hands. She kept piling books one at a time and asked the
president if it was getting hard to hold up the books. When it got to
be too heavy, she hurried and had the rest of her youth presidency
(the 2 counselors and secretary) come and take the books from her.
Then she explained how sometimes we think we can do it all by
ourselves. Then when our responsibilities continue to build up, we
get overloaded. It makes it so much easier to carry out our duties when
we have the rest of our presidency take part of the load.

One that I tend to use on the first presidency meeting
with a new class presidency might work for you. I tie four or six
strings to a 3-4 ft 1-inch wooden pole (or something similar that I can
find). Everyone takes a string. If everyone pulls on their strings then
the pole will stand. If even one person lets their string slack then the
pole will fall. (Everyone has an important part)
