We did this activity
when I was in Primary and it was great...really hit one.
It works well if you are sitting in church chairs or if it's at home, on kitchen/dining
chairs. Before the presidency and board members get there, you put a 5 pound bag of flour
or sugar. (We borrowed instead of buying all of them.) Have everyone seated in any chair
(bag of flour under chair) and begin you meeting.
What would happen if the Beehive advisor did not show up to church one Sunday?
Well...perhaps her presidency member will need to teach. At that point the advisor takes
her bag of flour and hands it to the pres. member, who is also holding her own. 10 pounds.
Not too heavy, but uncomfortable.
Now the Personal Progress member was supposed to have an activity this Wednesday for all
the yw. She didn't come. The secretary was going to help her. A no show, for whatever
reason. The YW pres. and her 2nd coun. have to think quickly and come up with something at
the last minute. Thus, the PP leader's bag goes to the president and the sec.'s bag goes
to the 2nd coun.
And also that night, no one showed up to play music that the girls were supposed to
practice for their program THIS Sunday. It was the MiaMaid advisor. So now the 1st coun.
has to pick and plunk her way there that difficult music and another bag is given to her.
Get the picture? You can think of lots of different situations for everyone. Everyone is
always needed to do their part. You've got to unified, work as a team.
When we did this in Primary many years ago, wow! It was great. A real eye opener!
