Leadership Training -
Ant/Picnic |
Submitted by: Dorinda y_dorinda@hotmail.comWe've had fun with this in our stake. We've been able to use
different themes in the past, but my two favorite are a Cow/western
theme and an Ant/Picnic theme. They can be modified to serve on a ward level. In fact,
one ward in our stake has made a tradition of taking their girls and doing their
leadership training on an overnighter. The cow hand out was printed on paper with a border
of black and white cow-spots. We made shrinky-dink pins with a cow on them, I'll try to
send the artwork for that. We decorated western style, etc.
The ant theme was decorated picnic style; red & white gingham table clothes, baskets,
etc. The hand out was on red & white checkered paper, ants included. The handout had
little black ants and red ants on them. Black ants were the good qualities and red were
the negative qualities they wanted the girls to identify and eliminate. They had picnic
food and played some team building games. Their girls loved it. We have some very talented
leaders in our Stake.
Developing Excell-ants in Leadership (Seek out and develop the good traits - eliminate the
bad!)
Compet-ants - She is full of ability and is willing to share the things she knows how to
do
Observ-ants - She notices what is going on around her. She watches other leaders and
learns from them. She keeps her eyes open.
Resili-ants - She bounces back easily when things don't go her own way. She is easy going
and willing to make changes to suit the needs of others.
Defi-ants - She does what she wants, when she wants, and how she wants without regard for
others' feelings or experiences.
Serv-ants - This little gal realized that to be a true leader, she must serve those she is
called to lead. She goes the extra mile in helping those around her.
Tal-ants - She is willing to share her talents with others. When asked to participate, she
willingly donates her time and abilities.
Inform-ants - She is always aware of what is going on, keeps the facts straight and passes
information onto class members.
Arrog-ants - She turns up her nose to anyone or to any activity she didn't plan or feels
is beneath her own "superior self".
Complem-ants - She is the first one to notice others talents and abilities. She always
tells people of the good things she hears about them. Uses HONEST praise.
Bouy-ants & Jubil-ants - Everyone's favorite pair! They are always cheerful and seem to
be floating on air. They always have a smile and a kind word.
Dilig-ants - She works hard and tries to do all that is expected of her.
Rever-ants - This little ant has a reverence for sacred things. She know when to be quiet,
when to listen and when it's appropriate to talk.
