Era 1994 Here is the handout I gave to the youth as they entered the room. I gave them a few minutes to see what they knew. Then continued with the outline I posted earlier. I gave them the answers at the end of the period. (I printed this on nice paper with a picture of Christ at the top) JESUS' LAST DAYS The final week of Jesus' life was filled with important events. In the space(s) next to each day, list in order the event(s)_ that occurred on that day. Saturday: Day of Anointing ________ Sunday: Day of Popularity ________ Monday: Day of Authority ________ Tuesday: Day of Conflict ________ Wednesday: Day of Rest ________ Thursday: Day of Fellowship ________ _______ ________ Friday: Day of Suffering Saturday: Day of Silence Sunday: Day of Triumph Jesus' Last Days 1. Darkness lasts from noon to 3:00 p.m. 2. At about sunrise, Jesus is officially condemned by Caiaphas and the Jewish Sanhedrin. 3. Jesus is anointed in Bethany of Mary 4. Jesus Dies 5. Jesus is crowned with thorns and mocked 6. Jesus curses the barren fig tree and cleanses the temple 7. Guards are placed at the tomb 8. Pilate sends Jesus to Herod. 9. Jesus partakes of the "Last Supper" with his Apostles. 10. Jesus' side is pierced with a spear. ll. Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross to Calvary. l2. Jesus enters Jerusalem in triumph. l3. Jesus probably spends a day of rest with his friends at Bethany. l4. Jesus is buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. l5. Jesus is taken to the roman governor, Pontius Pilate, about 6:00 a.m. l6. Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane. l7. Jesus victoriously rises from the dead. l8. Soldiers part Jesus' garments. l9. Jesus teaches in the temple and on the Mount of Olives 20. Herod returns Jesus to Pilate, who releases Barabbas and delivers Jesus to be crucified. 2l. Around midnight, Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss, and Jesus is arrested by the chief priests, scribes, and elders.
