14 Day Walk With Christ
Christ_sm.gif (9308 bytes)

This went on the front of a large white envelope. On the front of the envelope we placed a picture of the Savior with these instructions. The envelope contained the individual 14 letters. Each letter was sealed with a sticker.

The only way we can really know another person is to walk in their shoes: think what they think, learn what they know, and what they would say, do what  they would do.   Christ said,  "Be ye therefore perfect". We can only accomplish this as we  become like him

INSTRUCTIONS

In the morning: set aside enough time to open the envelope for that day.  Each day has a set of questions followed by a story, poem, or scripture  to help you walk with Christ. Read and PONDER what is written. Try to keep what you read in mind throughout the day. Perhaps take it with you to reread.   At the end of the day: evaluate how you did, and write your thoughts and feelings in your journal.

Day l - Faith - I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me, and I will have faith in His eternal plan,
which centers in Jesus Christ, my Savior.

Do I know that my Heavenly Father loves me? How do I know this is true? Do I know that I am His daughter?  Do I know that I lived with Him before I came here?  Because of His love for me,  He sent His Only Begotten Son,  Jesus Christ. Walk Tall,   You’re a Daughter of God

Right now I have a prayer deep within my heart, A prayer for each of you there is a special part  that you remember who you are and He who lives above.  Please seek for Him and live His way: You’ll feel His love.  Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong - please remember who you are.  Try to understand you’re part of His great plan.  He’s closer than you know - reach up, He’ll take your hand.

Long before the time you can remember,  Our Father held you in His arms so tender.   Those loving arms released you as he sent you down to earth.  He said, My child, I love you. Don’t forget your great worth.   Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong - please remember who you are.  Try to understand, you’re part of His great plan.   He’s closer than you know - reach up, He'll take your hand.

This life on earth we knew would not be easy.  At times we lose our way -His path we may not see.  But please remember - always please - that you are not alone.   He’ll take your hand. He loves you! He will guide you home.  Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong - please remember who you are.  Try to understand, you’re part of His great plan.  He’s closer than you know - reach up, He'll take your hand.

DAY 2 - Divine Nature - I have inherited divine qualities which I will strive to develop.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.... We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

When I think about the above statement how do I feel?  Do I believe that I can become like the Savior?  What divine qualities do I have that are like the Saviors?

I Am a Princess

DAY 3 - Individual Worth - I am of infinite worth with my own divine mission which I will strive to fulfill.

Do I understand what Christ did for me?  Do I believe that I am important enough for Him to love me and give all He has for me?  Do I love myself enough to accept who I am even when others might not see the beauty that is hidden inside?

The Son

DAY 4 - Knowledge - I will continually seek opportunities for learning and growth.

How can I gain a knowledge of Jesus Christ?  Do I take the time to read my scriptures each day?  Do I take the time to pray?  In all my decisions today will I ask, "What would Christ do?"

Dear Friend

DAY 5 - Choice and Accountability - I will remain free by choosing good over evil
and will accept responsibility for my choices.

Do I think about the Savior when I have a choice to make?  Will my decisions cause the Savior to suffer?  How can I put myself in a position to have the atonement cover my sins?

The Room

DAY 6 - Good Works - I will nurture others and build the kingdom through righteous service.

Do I look to the Savior as an example of how I should treat others? Am I too busy, hurried, and involved with worldly matters that I neglect what  is really important?   Am I making a difference in the live of those around me?

Making a Difference

DAY 7 - Integrity - I will have the moral courage to make my actions
consistent with my knowledge of right and wrong.

Do I do the right things for the right reasons? Do I set a righteous example for others? Do I believe that Heavenly Father is watching over me and knows what I do   even when no one else is around?

The Swimsuit

DAY 8 - Faith - "And, if you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have  eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God."  D & C 14:7

Do I strive to keep the commandments?  Do I believe I can make it to the celestial kingdom?  Do I have the faith necessary to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost?   How can the Holy Ghost help me endure to the end so that I may return and   live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?

Faith of Little Mary

DAY 9 - Divine Nature - "Be partakers of the divine nature,...giving all diligence, add to your faith  virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to  temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly  kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity."
2 Peter 1:4-7

Do I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Do I possess Christ-like qualities of patience, brotherly kindness, and  charity? What can I do to better develop those qualities within myself? Am I willing to give up things of the world in order to receive His good  gifts?

The Pearls

Day 10 - Individual Worth - "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God." D & C 18:10

Do I see myself and others as Heavenly Father sees us? Do my thoughts and actions affect my attitude? Am I living my life so that those who know me but don’t know the Savior will  want to know Him? Will I be touched by the Master’s Hand as I listen to General Conference?

The Touch of the Master’s Hand

DAY 11- Knowledge - "Seek learning even by study and also by faith."  D & C 88: 118

Where does all knowledge come from? Is it important to know the truth? How can the Holy Ghost help me to know the truth?  We searched the world over and could not find a story or poem that would  impart as much knowledge as you can gain from listening to the Prophet speak today.

Listen to him today or read his words in the New Era or Ensign.

Ponder on what he has to say.

Then ask yourself the questions again.

DAY 12  - Choice and Accountability - "Choose you this day whom ye will serve...  but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

Am I seeking Christ’s help when I have a choice to make? Do I stand for truth and righteousness? Do I live by the standards of personal worthiness on page 9 of my Personal   Progress manual?

Stand for Truth and Righteousness

DDAY 13 - Good Works - "Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your  good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." 3 Nephi 12:16

Do I put the Savior first in my life? What am I doing to build up the Lord and His kingdom? How does the Lord want me to serve? How do I really feel about the service I give others? Does serving the Lord make me happy?

"His Hands"

DAY 14 - Integrity - "Till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me." Job 27:5

During the past 14 days did I show integrity by reading a letter each day?  Have I developed a greater love for my Savior and myself by honestly  answering the daily questions? Have I felt the love of my Heavenly Father and my Savior?  If the Savior came today, would I be worthy to kneel at his feet?
