We
have had an "Ask the Bishopric" fireside at least once a year. We pass out slips
of paper on Sunday during their lesson time and collect them in a box. They can be
anonymous or not and they can ask a question about ANYTHING....The bishopric members take
turns pulling a question out of the box and answering it...of course, if it's not
appropriate they throw it away...(you will always get one wise guy asking an inappropriate
question). We've had questions about gospel topics all the way to "how did you meet
your wife", or "what was your most embarrassing moment"....the youth LOVE
this fireside.

Once we had all of the youth bring an item, (any
item!!), and we put them all in a bag and the Bishopric had to take turns drawing them out
and tell the youth how they could relate it to a Gospel Principal. And after they
did this they asked the youth that brought the item how they related it to a Gospel
Principal!! We called it stump the Bishopric!!
The youth brought some really good stuff and they all have great thoughts on relating it
to the Gospel. They really like this one. Some ideas were, a worn out shoe,
related to Gospel: A worn out shoe is nice and comfortable and secure, just
like well read scriptures. A toothbrush: A testimony is like a toothbrush
everyone needs their own.
It was really fun and the best part was the youth had to come up with an answer in case
they stumped the Bishopric!! It didn't happen but it came close a couple of times!
