Flag Facts

The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. For these reasons we must give it our full respect.

Handling
It takes two to raise and lower flag correctly.
When handling the flag never let it touch the ground, the floor or water.
Never place anything on it.
Clean when soiled, mend if it is torn
Destroy it in dignified way, by burning

Hoisting and Lowering
Joy is indicated by flying the flag full staff.
Hoist it briskly in the am, but not before sunrise.
Lower it slowly in the evening, no later then sunset.

Half-staff
Mourning is indicated by flying half-staff.
Hoist it to its peak, hold it there for an instant, then lower it to half-staff (half the distance between top and bottom of pole).
To bring down..Raise to its peak and lower slowly.

Folding the flag
Fold lengthwise in halves, then quarters with the blue on the outside
While holding the blue field..Other person makes a triangular fold in the opposite end.
Continue till only the blue field is showing

Displaying
Always consider yourself the flag with your right shoulder the field of blue
Now face the people, that is how our flag should be displayed

Meaning of our Flag
Flag stands for the men and women who built this country
13 stripes signify 13 original states (colonies) that gained our liberty
