I have had several inquiries about the D.E.A.R. idea at camp. It stands for "drop everything and read". Everyday while we are at camp, at 1:00pm our youth leaders will go to their assigned wards and gather all the yw and their leaders. They will take them to a designated spot around campfire, up in the trees etc and for 30 minutes they will all take turns reading the scriptures aloud together. They will read and then discuss what they have read. We are doing this in hopes that the yw will get more out of their scripture reading, will feel the spirit as they read and will also promote unity and friendship with each other. I am very excited about doing this. Our youth leaders are also excited and have been brainstorming on their favorite scripture stories in the book of Mormon to add to their reading since that will be our focus this year. I hope I have explained this so you understand. Also, I know there are many of you who have also done this idea at camp so any additional suggestions would be great too!
