The following are the activities, and themes we used at Camp-a-lot girl's camp
Daily Themes and Destiny Topics
Monday - Swords and Stones, Hero's & Thrones - destiny focused on Heroes
Tuesday - Princesses of Potential - We talked about the potential we each have and the
divine qualities we have inherited.
Wednesday - Slaying the Dragon. Conquering the Foe - Destiny focused on slaying the
dragon's in our life.
Thursday - Prince if Peace. Our Royal Heritage - The Savior was the focus of destiny
Friday - Return with Honor - We talked about being an honorable person.
Welcome - To officially transform camp into Camp-a-Lot, we did a very cute skit.
Hockotus Pockotus Merlin style.
Knighting Ceremony - We had an official royal ceremony to make the JC'S knights. As
we did so, we spotlighted each of the girls so everyone could get to know them
better. They received a royal sward (plastic version with ribbons tied to the
handle).
Coronation. Princesses on Parade - Each ward chose someone who was comfortable hamming it
up on stage to be their contestant. We gave them a bag of misc. items and the wards
had one hour and a half to come up with a costume, hairstyle, talent, and embellished
resume of their contestant. We had a master of Ceremonies, commercials (each ward
did one of these) We even had a production number! During the day, the girls had
made hennins. We put on the music from Swan Princess, Princesses on Parade, and the
girls danced up and down the isles of the amphitheater. All contestants received
some kind of award. This activity was so funny.
Towne Fair - We asked each of the wards to come up with a medieval type game or activity
that could be done in the meadow. The girls were able to wander, and choose which
activities they wanted to do. There were tug-a-wars, jousting events, etc. The
girl's favorite was a photo stop. The stake leaders had someone draw a princess and a
dragon etc. with the faces cut out. The girls could stand behind with their faces
poking through and have their picture taken.
Royal Ball - Everyone received an official invitation to the Royal Ball. One of our stake
leaders taught some line dances. It is amazing how much fun you can have dancing
without any guys!
Royal Feast and Closing Ceremonies - Our visiting stake and ward leaders were
treated to a royal feast, and a slide show. We also enjoyed a speaker.
Flags - Each ward was asked to come up with a name for their castle (cabin), and a
motto. Then they made a flag to represent these things. We gave them the
instruction so the flags would be similar. It was amazing to see what they came up
with.

Camp-o-lot
We did the Campalot/Camelot Theme at camp two years ago, and it
was GREAT! We used the theme song from Camelot and our very talented member of
the Stake YW Presidency wrote these words: (Note, the property we camp at is
called "Brentwood" and that year we were focusing on families, so the song has
that slant):
Our lives began a long, long time ago there
With Heavenly Parents loving, kind and dear
We were so happy living in their presence
We were loved alot.
A plan was formed for us to gain experience
On earth we'd have the chance to learn and grow
We'd do our best to strengthen our new families
We'd learn alot.
Chorus:
In Campalot, Campalot
We know exactly who we are
Yes, in Campalot, Campalot
We're Royal Heirs, we are.
No ordinary place is this our Brentwood
We love the peaceful feeling in the air
In short, there's simply not a more beloved spot
For strengthening our families
Than here in Campalot!
Our situations may not be just perfect
But we will do our best through faith and prayer
We'll rise above adversities and trials
We'll grow alot.
So when the mists of darkness gather 'round us
If we will put our trust in God above
We'll have the strength to always carry onward
We'll become alot.
Repeat Chorus:
The beauty of the mountains now surrounds us
We feel a closeness to our Heavenly home
In short, there's simply not a more beloved spot
For strengthening our families
Than here in Campalot!
Great Theme. You'll have a blast! - Melody Richins
