We're still in the preliminary stages of planning our stake camp, but I'm posting ideas we've collected so far from this list (thank you!) and others just in case it might help one of you in planning your camp. And maybe something here will spark a great idea in your creative minds that will help me in turn. Please, if you think of anything that will add to our camp theme, let me know!

Theme: "By Their Fruits"
Scripture: Matthew 7:20 "Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them"

Tuesday Theme: SHOW By Your Fruits

Necklace charm: fruit tree with "Show by your fruits" on it. Include on the back, the quote from 6 Be’s talk "…lives be fruitful…". (boondoggle necklace - charms are laminated paper or shrink art. All four charms for each of the four days will already be on it and each day one of the charms will be introduced. (beads & other items can be added to the necklace as rewards thru week)

AM Theme Presentation: Introduce scripture Matthew 7:20 "Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them". You show H.F. you love Him and who you are "by your fruits", or the things you do and say.

Introduce Good Deeds Tree
Good Deeds Tree - YW watch at camp for kind acts and service, etc. of other YW (give examples), during the day write the deed and YW name on fruit paper and hang on good deeds tree

PM Fireside speakers talk about modern day heroes in their lives who showed by their fruits that they loved the Savior. Conclude with Gordon B. Hinckley –advice for us included – 6 be’s (smart, grateful, clean, true, humble, prayerful) – helps us show to others that we are daughters of God and that we love Him.

YCL sing concluding song "Show Him" ( "Show Him you love Him in all you do")

YCL devotionals focus on YW Values: Choice and Accountability, Integrity (capacity to do great and noble things, you display fruits to world by how you treat others, clothes you wear, live commandments and do what you know is  right in all circumstances)

Stake PJ’S Treat: ‘lem’ on the Lord – remember to pray (lemon drops)

Wednesday Theme: KNOW By Your Fruits

Necklace Charm: collage of name brand labels with "Know By Your Fruits – What’s your label?" over top and on the back include scripture hero’s pictures and scripture Matthew 7:20

AM Theme Presentation
Talk about name brand labels, some are true, some not so true (claiming to be the best – CD cover that doesn’t reflect music inside). Compare to labels we put on ourselves and others (positive or negative). Goal to become more like scripture heroes –confidence in who we are as we make our outer labels match the inner daughter of God – increased faith

PM Scripture Hero Story Skits
Fun night with skits by wards. Skits will include scripture hero and YW value and their chosen fruit. Conclude night with brief devotional. Even though the label on the fruit may be "Chiquita or Dole", it doesn’t matter (if we come from this family or that one) because we’re still a banana and it doesn’t change the fact that we are daughters of God with a special purpose. Heavenly Father knows our potential, knows our weaknesses and our strengths. We need to listen to the spirit and have faith to reach our potential (Moses felt inadequate when the Lord commanded him to speak to Pharaoh, but he did it with faith and by listening to the spirit) YCL devotionals focus on the YW Values: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth (stand tall as sons and daughters of God, listen to Spirit to reach potential)

Stake PJ’S Treat: ‘orAnge’ your time for PJ’S - Prayer, Journal & Scriptures (orange slices)

Thursday Theme: GROW By Your Fruits

Necklace Charm: sliced apple with seeds, picture on back of YW giving service (mormonad?) and words "Pay It Forward"

AMTheme Presentation: Plant a seed and let it grow (story of Johnny Appleseed), compare to the movie "Pay It Forward". Do something for someone that they can’t do for themselves. Ask, "How can I thank someone for their service to me? Pay it forward. Have YCL share experience of how they served someone or had someone serve them (paid it forward to them) and how they felt prompting of the Holy Ghost. (have YCL plan and prepare this at April’s training overnighter)

Stake Activity: Bob for apples

PM Fireside with Bishops and Stake President: message on Service, Savior and Atonement, plant seed – missionary work.

YCL devotionals focus on the Wales: Good Works and Knowledge

Stake PJ’S Treat: Do your PJ’S – it’s app ‘eal’ ing (apple candle) (HELP!)

Friday Theme: GO By Your Fruits

Necklace Charm: Don’t stop symbol on one side with "Go By Your Fruits" written & YW torch symbol on the other

AMTheme Presentation: Don’t stop showing good fruits when camp ends! Keep going at home and wherever you are. Make your fruits be ones that reflect who you are – a Young Woman who stands for truth and righteousness, who works hard, lets others help her along and endures to the end – like an Olympian.

Notes:  During camp: wards will be assigned a secret ward to do a service, kind act or give a treat to anonymously YW will do secret sisters within wards T-shirts with value colors (ward assigned one color) will be printed for all attending camp (any ideas out there for a logo?) YW will help lead their favorite camp songs during roll call and also give their ward camp roll call. I'm going to try to find out the YW favorites and print up a new booklet that includes those, plus the new song "Show Him" that we'll be teaching them on the first night.
