Stake YW Camp Theme this year is: 2001 Space Odyssey--Quest for the Kingdom.
Our goals (which we are calling our "Quests") are:
Quest #1: Temple Marriage
Quest #2: Trust in the Spirit
Quest #3: Increase Patriotism
The Stake Camp Director and Assistant will be "Mission Control." I thought it
would be funny to have our YCLs (youth camp leaders) be "The Little Dippers;"
and the YCL Moms be "The Big Dippers." The Stake YW Leaders thought it would be
funny to be "Matter Unorganized."
Names a few of the wards have thrown around are: the Galaxy Girls, the Starz, the Milky
Way Mommas...Other names could be: the Celestial Sweethearts, the Sunbeams, etc.
The girls will be making "Wedding Cans" for their craft. They will be decorating
cans from the cannery (the cannery is letting us use the sealer). Our Camp Directors have
been asked to get a letter from the parents of each of the YW to put in the cans. They
will also put other mementos inside to be opened on their Wedding Day.

I suggest that you put a letter from the girl to her future
spouse. Maybe a picture of their favorite temple. White handkerchief to use at the temple.

In our stake we do give gifts and handouts each day. We
usually try to give something that goes along with the theme. This year our theme is
"2001 A Space Oddessy - A Spiritual Quest" We are giving Glow-in-the-dark
necklaces with hearts on them. This is what we will use to string the camp beads on. We
are also giving Wintergreen Lifesavers (Because they spark in the dark when you bite them)
And Glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls and whistles. Each gift will have a saying attached to
it. We also give out one or two paper handouts with inspirational poems or saying on them.
