2000 Stripling Warriors - Who'll Bring the World His Truth
Submitted by: Dannyel S Crane As I have written before, we are doing "2000 Stripling Warriors" as our theme. Scripture will be 1 NE 3:7 and the camp song will be We'll bring the world his Truth, Primary songbook. We are having each of our wards pick a favorite Book of Mormon Hero to base their camp around. One of them have chosen- Captain Moroni and they are doing some awesome things for that. They will decorate and also incorporate the story into their camps. We are all in tents at our camp so that makes decorating a fun challenge. As a stake we are ordering dog tags for all of the girls and then we are going to do a value activity where the girls will earn value cards the same size as their dog tags in the value colors by learning the value scripture and its motto etc. We are also ordering camo shirts for everybody. Some of our activities will include a Lamanite vs Nephite War with water guns, and shave cream-(I got this idea off the list!), We are going to do a first aid mock disaster, we are doing a really fun activity on our hike and having clues and treats along the way. One of the things I am really excited about is our spiritual night. My Youth Leaders are going to put on a play and we are having it written by a talented lady in our stake. She is doing a spin off of Wizard of Oz and Dorothy is lost with no where to go and along the way she meets, people who arm her with the Armour of God. She's writing songs and everything. I think it's going to be awesome and will be a different approach to testimony night. We will follow with the testimonies. We are using the Service Project off the list "2000 ties for 2000 stripling Warriors. Our whole stake is very excited about this and we are opening it up to the wards to also donate. These are just a few of our ideas. If you want to know more let me know. UPDATE: Our service project turned out incredible. WE have sent the article and pictures to the NEW ERA in hopes they will publish it. We put out a challenge to our stake that we wanted to collect 2000 Ties and White shirts that could be sent to the missionaries in other countries that have a shortage on them. My stake YW Pres. wrote to several missionary presidents and asked if they had a need. We had several reply and we were able to send ties to Lithuania, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela. We collected almost 1800 ties and white shirts. At girls camp, we had each of the girls write their testimony on a 3x5 card and then we bundled about 6 ties together and attached one of the testimonies. It really was incredible to see the generosity of the wards. One lady Made 12 ties!
