Just some
thoughts on the Power in One
The Power in One -Spark of one testimony is enough to "light" a path for others
to follow
or lead back from strange paths.
The Power in One - Footstep -can lead to the path that Christ asked us to follow
when he said "Come Follow Me"
The Power in One - Smile can reflect the "Light of Christ"
The Power in One - Kind word can turn a dark moment into a day full of
"light"
The Power in One - Choice has eternal consequences for our posterity for generations to
come.
The Power in One - "Light" allows others to "see" more
clearly
to feel the spirit, to be hear the whisperings of the Holy Ghost.
The Power in One - Page of scriptures read
..strengthens us in the desire to be more
obedient.
The Power in One - Act of Courage can lift and strengthen others to Choose the Right
The Power in One - Question - "What would Christ want me to do?" could be
the difference between a bad choice or good choice.
The Power in One - Testimony can touch the hearts of many!!!!!!!
The Power in One - Still Small Voice can whisper "Be still, and Know that I am
God."
The Power in One - True Friend can comfort and heal!!!!
The Power in One - True Friend can bring the greatest blessings °Ü°

(Just a reminded that candles are not allowed in the building - so
you could do this outside or use flashlights which is just as effective.)
I have been involved in a training where there was a candle ceremony that perfectly shows
the power of one and it very simple to do. Everybody gets a candle (if you fashion foil
holders it contains the wax), the Leader stands in the middle and explains how
if we hide our candle or our testimony the whole world would be very dark. Then turn out
the lights (make sure the room is completely dark. Then the leader in the middle
lights her candle. Have another leader come to the middle and "bear your
testimony" by lighting her candle and then give an eyes only embrace (eye contact!)
then the two go out in the circle (oops, I forget to mention, you should be in a circle)
and share "testimonies" in a snowball effect till all the candles are lit. In
the background some appropriate music should be playing , such as Celebrating the Light by
Michael McLean. At the end of the music all come towards the center of the room with their
candle raised high and singing with the song if they know the words. When the song
finishes, they leader can remind the girls about how dark the room was and how light it is
now, by just sharing your "testimony" and then have all blow out their candles,
but the leader to remind them. Let me know what you think about this, I'd like to suggest
we use it at Camp.

You can buy slabs of paraffin
even at the grocery store! I used to use it when I canned with my mom, and that's where
she bought it. Try hardware stores, too. Wal-Mart, too.
We dipped candles using wicks and paraffin I bought from wal-mart, as a pioneer activity
last year. takes time, and the safest way is a TALL can like a juice can..(the ones in the
TIN can) you find on the shelves, buy the bottled juices, not in the freezer cases. Use an
electric frying pan with about an inch and a half of water in it, and put several large
chunks of wax in the juice can... takes a while to melt, then just dip the wick... and
dip... and dip...and dip... You can purchase oils and colors at Wal-mart, too, or put bits
of old crayons (a little at a time) in the hot wax... melt and stir.
