Learn and teach about quicksand. There was a demonstration on Newton's Apple many
years ago about how quicksand will not "suck you under" as is often demonstrated
in movies. But you will achieve a state of "neutral buoyancy." He
stood on top of this 8 foot container of sand and as they added water he began to sink
until about shoulder high, I think. You could talk about sin and quicksand.
Sometimes when we act from fear--we get pulled under. Sometimes we do
nothing, but stay in the bog and go nowhere. To be free, we must reach up to the
Savior, who helps to pull us free from the path of sin and away from sinful behavior.
How to watch out for the trap of quicksand (sin), how to get out and away from sin,
etc. I think a demonstration with this lesson would go over really great.
