Temple Molds

Submitted by: Carol in Georgia

We made the Temple visual reminders last month and the girl's seemed to really like them. I had gotten a ceramic mold of the Salt Lake Temple from Mormon Handicraft and we made "hand cast paper temples". The girls mounted them on a piece of mat board and decorated it with dried flowers and ribbon. I had printed the quote "I will make the decisions today that will take me to the temple tomorrow" (I do not have a source for the quote) that they glued on the bottom of the mat board. They all turned out very pretty and they enjoyed signing their "artwork". I do not know if they make molds other than Salt Lake (we live in Atlanta) I ordered the mold by calling Mormon Handicraft and they mailed it to me.   Hand cast paper items are very easy to make - we dried them in the microwave which takes about 6 minutes each. If you do a search there is a website that explains the procedure fully. Hope this makes sense. I have 6 Laurels  and we completed the project in one night, but I felt it was meaningful.

Hope these help you. The sites do not have the temple molds on them, but you can get the information when you call. They all have great things on their site for other possibilities.
