We had a
mini skills tournament. We divided the girls into groups of 4-5 and they
had to go around clockwise to each of the seven station having 10
minutes at each station. A leader was in charge of each station taking
note of the winner and their score from each group. Then at the end
there was a grand prize for each of the seven stations.
Flicking marbles - GATEWAY TO
HEAVEN
Materials
needed:
Marbles, card board box, scissors
Make four arches
in the bottom of the cardboard box (different sizes) and have a line
where the girls stand to try and flick their marble into one of the four
holes (each worth different points)
Pop bottle game STRAIGHT AND
NARROW
Materials
needed:
one pop bottle, several pencils
The girls stand
directly over the pop bottle and while holding the pencil at waist level
drop the pencil into the bottle. Each girl gets three tries.
Card game SAILING HOME
Materials
needed:
a deck of cards, a hat
Each girl takes
a turn trying to toss as many cards into the hat (one at a time) in 30
seconds
Stacking pennies TOWER OF
PENNIES
Materials
needed:
200 pennies
Each girl takes
turns stacking as many pennies as she can in 2 minute. It cannot fall in
that minute or no pennies count. The girl with the most pennies stacked
wins.
Throwing tennis balls AIM
HIGH
Materials
needed:
20 tennis balls, a deep barrel or bucket
Have each girl
take turns throwing as many tennis balls into the bucket as she can in 1
minute.
Nail pounding STRENGTH OF
YOUTH
Materials
needed:
two thick board, 20 nails, 2 hammers
The girl that
pounds in the nail with the least amount of hits wins. If tie, do a tie
off.
Rubber bands game - HITTING THE
MARK ER
Materials
needed:
a bag of rubber bands, magic markers
Each girl stands
behind a line and tries to knock over the markers in 30 seconds using
the rubber bands.
