(Note from Susan) I don't know how
accurate this is but I found it in a newspaper years ago & have kept it
ever since. It's a beautiful picture of our Savior, one we would all
like to believe.)
Some of us wonder what Jesus
looked like. Here is a description of Jesus, the Nazarene, as seen in
actual life. Publius Lentulus is a fictitious person, said to have been
Governor of Judea before Pontius, and to have written the following
letter to the Roman Senate: "Lentulus, the Governor of the Jerusalemites
to the Roman Senate and People, greetings. There has appeared in our
times, and there still lives, a man of great power (virtue), called
Jesus Christ. The people call him prophet of truth; his disciples, son
of God. He raises the dead, and heals infirmities. He is a man of medium
size (statura procerus, mediocris et spectabilis); he has a
venerable aspect, and his beholders can both fear and love him. His hair
is of the colour of the ripe hazel-nut, straight down to the ears, but
below the ears wavy and curled, with a bluish and bright reflection,
flowing over his shoulders. It is parted in two on the top of the head,
after the pattern of the Nazarenes. His brow is smooth and vary cheerful
with a face without wrinkle or spot, embellished by a slightly reddish
complexion. His nose and mouth are faultless. His beard is abundant, of
the colour of his hair, not long, but divided at the chin. His aspect is
simple and mature, his eyes are changeable and bright. He is terrible in
his reprimands, sweet and amiable in his admonitions, cheerful without
loss of gravity. He was never known to laugh, but often to weep. His
stature is straight, his hands and arms beautiful to behold. His
conversation is grave, infrequent, and modest. He is the most beautiful
among the children of men."
Note from Susannah - In Revelation 1 starting in verse 14, there is a
description of Christ. Also D&C 110. And in Daniel chapter 10. I hope
this helps in some way.

I have heard General Authorities say that
the painting of Christ in the Red Robe that is used for tons of Church things
is closest how he looks. The artist had to keep bringing in the picture for
approval from the First Presidency until finally they said it was Christ. I
would think that they would know. LOL! But, I don't think that picture makes
him beautiful as to today's standards BUT...I do feel the Spirit when I see it
and his eyes are so amazing in that picture! I can feel the love he had for us
when I look at it. I think his beauty was FELT maybe more than seen. He was a
person like me and you and therefore some saw beauty and some did not. Beauty
is in the eye of the Beholder. Just my humble opinion

"The temple's large ordinance rooms featured beautiful murals, Joseph Gibby, a
Los Angeles artist and a technical illustrator, received the
assignment to paint for the baptistery a mural depicting the Savior's baptism.
As this work neared completion, the artist experienced a problem, so went to
visit with President David O. McKay. "I cannot paint the Savior's face to my
satisfaction, I need to know his complexion and coloring." Without hesitation
the prophet described the Savior's features for the artist.
